We went along to the
PIA fashion show last week and were seriously impressed to see this young Kiwi designer step it up another level.
Designer
Pia Naera presented her current Autumn/Winter collection to over 400 media and VIP customers at
Giltrap Prestige Audi in Grey Lynn last
Thursday 5th June.
The latest collection, again designed and made in New Zealand, is an extension of the ‘bold, beautiful and feminine’ PIA we have grown to love.
The signature prints, patterns and pops of colour are back, with plenty of frills and flowing dresses that the brand has become renowned for. We were pleasantly surprised to see some prints in there inspired by arcade games Space Invader, Tetris and Pac Man, giving a nod to the ‘90s in which Pia grew up.
In another PIA first, we were surprised to see some darker fabrics, in stunning blues, pitch blacks and overcast greys. Pia said she’d never work in black, but we’re glad to see she’s gone against her word because we love her introduction of some darker options into the PIA winter wardrobe.
