There's no reason to have FOMO if you're sticking around Auckland this summer, because there's plenty of amazing stuff happening here in the city.
One awesome event that has caught our attention is the
WORLD'S EDGE exhibition, taking place between
10am and 5pm in
Silo Park from Friday 10th January until Sunday 19th January.
Through photography and painting WORLD'S EDGE explores the ways in which Kiwis have changed the world from the edge of the world with creativity and innovation.
Using an analogue form of digital photography, artist and curator
Douglas Moores has twisted, folded and dissected our perspective, highlighting the beauty and surreal nature of our surroundings.
“The ocean has always been a liberating place for me. I wanted to capture the essence of the seascape and the concept of working right on the edge both physically and conceptually,” says Douglas.
Throughout the exhibition there will also be a speaker series of the best and brightest innovators from New Zealand giving their perspective on what it means to innovate from the “world’s edge”. The speakers will be announced in the next few weeks through the
official website.
WORLD'S EDGE will finish with a sustainable seafood
POPdining dinner supporting the work of
Sustainable Coastlines and their efforts to look after our environment.
Admission to WORLD’S EDGE is free and the exhibition will be open each day from 10am until 5pm in
Silo 6 at Silo Park, 96 Jellicoe Street, Auckland.
