Sabrina the Teenage Witch is getting a millennial makeover

Feeling reminiscent of your childhood hocus pocus? Remember Salem the talking cat, (an electronic nightmare looking in retrospect), and Sabrina the quirky yet lovable teenage witch? Well, you can now expect a revival of this magical world which the late '90s and early aughts once reveled in!

Just like Sabrina, with a snap of the fingers, magic happens. Although, in this instance, the resurrection of Sabrina the Teenage Witch may not be as familiar as we would have imagined.

Makers of Riverdale - the dark and murder-filled series - will be tackling the original comic form known as the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

Yes, you read that right. The terrifying origins of Sabrina propose a story line that, rather than channeling the comedic woes of a teenage witch, will instead delve into a coming-of-age story surrounded by horror, witchcraft, and the occult.

Sounds like we won't be receiving any friendly advice from cats, nor affectionate aunts in this Warner Bros reboot thought to be released as a 2018-19 TV series. As it is a companion piece to the Archie spin-off comic series, if the story goes ahead successfully, we could certainly be seeing some magic sparking in the notorious Riverdale diner.

Here's hoping the soon to be released season 2 of Riverdale connects the dots for us...
