Michelle Obama has a New Hit Song

The first lady, Michelle Obama, has released a song! But before you get too excited, no she doesn’t feature (unfortunately), instead, she has casually recruited Missy Elliot, Kelly Rowland, Kelly Clarkson, Janelle Monae, Zendaya, Chloe and Halle, Lea Michele and Jadagrace for her new 'This Is For My Girls' track.

The song is inspired by the Obama’s interest in helping young women around the world complete their education, supporting their ‘Let Girls Learn’ initiative and #62MillionGirls campaign.

Our favourite line would have to be part of Missy Elliot’s verse of course:

'This is for my ladies, like soldiers we stand up
Remember when 2Pac told us keep our head up?
And even when the times get rough we get up
Treat your life like a stage, you go ‘head and tear it up
Pass the mic, pass the mic, ladies come through
Don’t ever, ever let ’em try to stop or try to block you
You better tell ’em you something better than any other
You’ll never settle, you’re next level, yeah, you’re making moves'

Did someone say girl power?!

The song can be previewed and purchased on iTunes here, where all proceeds from the song go back to the Let Girls Learn Fund.
