Kiwi graffiti duo enlightening your arrival into Hawaii
You may not recognise the name, but you’d probably recognise BMD’s artwork around certain streets of New Zealand.
BMD are a graffiti artist duo that have left their mark on over 50 walls around Wellington, and dozens more in both Auckland and New Plymouth. The two artists are known maintain a sense of anonymity by covering their faces with dust masks and sunglasses when making videos of their work.
The pair recently found themselves on the global radar by being flown to Hawaii to create their latest masterpiece on the surface of an airport service truck, a project commissioned by Hawaiian Airlines to celebrate their upcoming second anniversary in the New Zealand market. To represent the connection between the two island nations, the truck was painted with imagery representing the common cultural themes of Hawaii and New Zealand.
Visiting Hawaii anytime soon? Take a look out your aircraft window to see if you can spot the service vehicle with BMD's artwork on it! If you haven't booked your trip to Hawaii yet, then make sure you check out Hawaiian Airlines here.
