Introducing Spark Lab: Get inspired by the best in Kiwi creativity each month
Earlier this month we partnered with Spark to throw the massive Remix Spring Party at Shed 10. We were stoked to join forces with these guys, who have got some really cool and creative stuff going on at the moment.
This week Spark unveiled Spark Lab, an entire floor of the Seafarers building in Auckland’s Britomart, where people roll up their sleeves and get involved in the creation of new ideas, experiences, products and art.
Every month Spark Lab will focus on a different discipline, exploring creative industries like music, fashion, art, technology, photopraphy and architecture. Each month a particular discipline or industry will invite the public to be inspired, to learn more, to observe works and to interact with that particular area of creativity.
So for November, Spark Lab is opening the doors to the music industry, exploring the creativity involved with speeches, screenings, live performances and interactive seminars. The music line-up ranges from show and tells by Fat Freddy’s Drop founder DJ Fitchie and hip hop star Che Fu to songwriting workshops, performances, and talks from local heavy hitters including Lorde’s manager Scott McLaughlin and major record label heads.
Each week there will be plenty of intriguing and interactive stuff going on for you to get involved with. If you’re a creative or an inquisitive mind then you’ll be into Spark Lab in a major way.
