Everything we know about the Clooney twins' arrival

It's the announcement that basically broke the internet - George and Amal welcomed their twins, a boy named Alexander and a girl named Ella, to the world yesterday. 

The Clooney twins' arrival was confirmed in a statement by the couple's representative, who saw the opportunity to add a little satire to the newsbite.

We could barely contain our excitement in February, when news that the actor and the international human rights lawyer, were expecting their first children. 

Nina, George's mother, later revealed the pair were expecting a boy and a girl, which sent the rumour mill into overdrive with what the heirs to Hollywood royalty would be named. 

The pair married in September 2014, shocking the world that Hollywood's most famous bachelor was officially off the market. 

Of his venture into parenthood, Clooney famously said, 'Look, it's exciting. And we're really happy and really excited, and it's going to be an adventure. We've sort of embraced it all... with arms wide open.'

Now, if only Beyonce would follow suit...
