NUMA Skin & Body Club is New Zealand’s first gym for your skin

Gone are the days of ad-hoc treatments and complex treatment plans, with the introduction of NUMA Skin & Body Club, New Zealand’s first membership-based skin and body club. Like a traditional gym where members regularly (sometimes) attend to work on their physical health, the Wellington-based NUMA Skin & Body Club helps members glow from the inside out with extensive offerings focused on skin and body health.

Following her first successful venture Spa Nomad, NUMA Skin & Body Club is a natural extension of co-founder Kristen Teo’s lifelong wellness ethos. Inspired by the specialist clubs and luxury spas from around the world – Aman Spa in Tokyo, the Ritz Carlton, and Jocelyn Petroni in Sydney; NUMA Skin & Body Club is on a mission to redefine wellness by offering innovative skincare treatments alongside transformative experiences.

‘Numa’ derives from the Greek word ‘Pneuma’ meaning 'breath of life'—a feeling that has been seamlessly integrated throughout the wellness haven’s design. NUMA Skin & Body Club’s designer, Nathan Varga of Studio 11:11, has created a fresh, spacious environment that leans into the healing and restorative ideology of the brand. From state-of-the-art treatment rooms, a cold-plunge pool, and infra-red saunas; the cutting-edge Wellington-based clinic provides a holistic approach to skin and body health, and allows members to indulge in the most premium spa service available in the country.

And if one record wasn’t enough, in another New Zealand first, NUMA has introduced an innovative facial treatment that incorporates full-body infra-red light to simultaneously target the body. During this bespoke treatment, NUMA members receive a tailored ‘face-lift’ facial and massage that specifically targets their skin needs, whilst the infra-red light works to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and promote healing within the body. NUMA’s co-founder and senior skin therapist with over 15 years of experience, Isa, developed the speciality face-lift massage that incorporates a series of high-touch movements that lift, sculpt and tone the facial muscles that result in immediate and lasting results.

Dedicated to caring for the long-term skin and body health of their members, NUMA also offers the first LED ‘pop-in’ lounge, where members can treat themselves to a dose of LED Light Therapy whenever they please—an idea that we think is absolutely genius.

With an extensive list of treatments available, NUMA Skin & Body Club is perhaps the country’s most comprehensive wellness sanctuary, made even better by a team of experienced skin therapists dedicated to holistically achieving long-term results for each and every client. From contrast therapy to dermal needling, a NUMA membership is a guaranteed ticket to a lifetime of skin and body health. We’re patiently waiting for news of an Auckland address.
