Kicking off on Thursday 20th February 2020, the APL Takapoto Estate Show Jumping event will reign supreme as the year's most captivating day out for both riders and spectators alike. To put it simply, it is two weeks of thrilling competition, horse and rider performing at the top of their game, picturesque scenery and some of the finest Kiwi hospitality.

 

Takapoto Estate is the picture-perfect venue hosting the prestigious event, flowing over rolling landscapes, nestled amongst native bush and bordering on the shores of Lake Karapiro in the Waikato. There is no better vista to enjoy the skill and fierce competition between 400 riders, local and international, as well as a number of Olympian riders.

Hosting the inaugural Team’s Championship with a star studded line-up including Olympians Clarke Johnstone and Maurice Beatson, former Australian senior champion Amber Fuller, Tokyo hopeful Tom McDermott, recent back-to-back winner of the FEI World Cup New Zealand Series Tegan Fitzsimon and Olympic Cup holder Emily Hayward.

 

Make a day of it to watch courageous athletes compete while enjoying the region's best fresh food and wine - including the Estate's award-winning Pinot Noir at the VIP Grand Prix. Or dance the night away at the APL Cocktail function to round off your perfect summer experience.

Sunday, February 23, Harney & Sons High Tea 10.30 am– 3.00 pm

$97 per ticket which includes admission to Takapoto Estate Show Jumping , a catered grazing table of High Tea goodies, tea and coffee and a cash bar.

Week 1 ends with the Harney & Sons High Tea event, to be enjoyed while watching the thrilling Anne Symes Memorial Speed Derby Class. This unique event features show jumping mixed with a little cross-country to really mix it up. This will be followed by the Grand Prix, which is part of the national Equissage Grand Prix Series.

The delicious catered High Tea will be served in the stunning Bellevue Arena Main Marquee.

10.30 am Bellevue Arena Marquee opens

11.00am -12.45pm 1.25m Ann Symes Memorial Speed Derby

12.30 pm-2 pm High Tea is served

1.30 pm -4.30 pm 1.45m Class 25 Grand Prix, part of the national Equissage Horse Grand Prix Series
