It’s been a week full of anticipation, anxiety and hope. To take your mind off things, we’ve put together a list of our favourites from this week to give you some positivity!

Aesop’s Rōzu Eau de Parfum

At times like this, sometimes we need to turn to our little luxuries to regain some semblance of normality and optimism towards the future. Aesop just launched the most divine fragrance, the Rōzu Eau de Parfum. The scent is full of intense, yet tender, rich floral notes of Rose, layered with Petitgrain, Bergamot and vibrant Shiso. Intended to appeal to all genders, Rōzu Eau de Parfum is available from all Aesop stores, online and in Auckland - Aesop Newmarket (call and collect).

Death On The Nile & the Tiffany Diamond

A major 128-carat Tiffany Diamond by Tiffany & Co is set to feature in the upcoming blockbuster film, Death On The Nile worn by Gal Gadot. The piece of art itself was, made famous by Audrey Hepburn, last worn by Lady Gaga and will be seen worn for the fourth time in almost 143 years since being unearthed in the South Africa Kimberley mines in 1877. Reed Krakoff, the chief artistic officer said, “The Tiffany Diamond is a priceless symbol of the highest standards of virtuosity and craftsmanship at Tiffany, and rarely makes an appearance beyond its vault”. Death On The Nile will be hitting our theatres on October 23rd 2020.

2020 GirlBoss Awards x ZURU

Mark your calendars ladies, an exciting event is coming! ZURU has joined forces with GirlBoss New Zealand to celebrate trailblazing young women through the 2020 GilrBoss Awards - brought to you by ZURU’. It’s always an empowering feeling when women around us get recognised for their successes - we’re here for it. The Awards aim to recognise the incredible Kiwi women (aged 11 to 18) who are defying stereotypes and shaping the future of New Zealand. Nominations are open for females aged 11 to 18 online and close at midnight on August 27th. Winners will be announced on the 22nd of September.

 

Keep It Cleaner (KIC)

We know. It’s extremely difficult to keep yourself disciplined by being healthy and keeping up with your exercises. Keep It Cleaner (KIC), the online wellness program founded by Steph Claire Smith and Laura Henshaw relaunched their new app! Designed for users to challenge themselves, with no pressure or comparisons to others around them. The app contains at-home workouts, access to healthy recipes and guided meditations for every fitness levels. The duo has created a sense of community through the online channels, so users are able to remain engaged and feel like they are a part of a greater collective. KIC is a subscription-based app and available to download on the App Store and Google Play.

 

Bumble x The Twenties Club - ‘What We Call Love’

Something for your ears… Bumble and The Twenties Club has just launched a podcast called What We Call Love - a seven-part series that explores love in its many forms in Aotearoa in 2020. An episode released every Friday morning, with Madeleine Walker interviewing a cast of fearless and inspiring Kiwi voices who graciously allowed a look into what love looks like, sounds like, and feels like from their perspectives. They hit number one on the NZ Podcast charts in less than 12 hours after its launch episode, so it only makes sense that we should be listening to it pronto! The series will launch every Friday on iTunes and Spotify from 21st of August until 2nd of October.

Roger Mortimer’s Houhora

To all the art enthusiasts out there, there’s an upcoming exhibition by the celebrated artist Roger Mortimer at Föenander Galleries, so get excited! The gallery has gone through some major transformations in the past few years, cultivating a welcoming and inclusive space to showcase some diverse set of emergent and established New Zealand artists. Houhora sees the ongoing development of Mortimer’s distinctive juxtaposition of gothic imagery with early maps of Aotearoa. The collection consists of six new paintings, as well as the debut of a large tapestry. Houhora will be opening on 3rd September until 22nd September

Deadly Ponies

We love to support brands that are conscious about the planet. Deadly Ponies launched a Recycle Initiative in June, collecting pre-loved pieces from their customers to repurpose and recycle in an effort to close the loop. The Recycle collection is crafted from 100% recycled leather, silk and solid brass in full circularity. The first collection consists of four limited edition pieces; a silk eye-mask, leather sunglasses case, leather coaster set, and custom-designed brass handcrafted in collaboration with local artist, Hannah Valentine. As well as this, Deadly Ponies has committed to donating 10% of their profits to their 2020 partners!
