Five biggest festival trends from Coachella weekend one

Coachella fashion, while undeniably predictable, still manages to captivate us year after year. It seems there is something enchanting about seeing our favourite celebs in cowgirl boots, tassels and crochet dresses.

As we prepare for weekend two to slowly dominate our newsfeeds, here’s a look at the five biggest trends from weekend one.

Our guess – we can expect to see a lot more of these trends popping up this festival season.

1. Chokers

Coachella so far has taken chokers to the next level, with every second person with one around their neck in some way, shape or form. For Kylie, of course, the usual material choker was replaced with a diamond one. Because she can.

2. Bras as tops

Let’s face it – shirts are over-rated. Kendall was one of many festival-goers who opted out of excess clothing this year and instead pairing a cute lacy bra with a cowgirl hat.

3. Shoulders out

Emily Rata showed us how shoulder-less is done with this super cute dress that was one of the more elegant looks from Chella weekend one.

4. Active chic

Cool-girl Zoe Kravitz took to an active chic look for full festival comfort with the ASAP boys by her side. Dancing at Chella is basically a full-on sport so you may as well dress the part.

5. Bandanas

Bandanas and Coachella have had a long-term relationship however this year they really do seem to not only be popping up everywhere – but in every way possible. Taylor Hill sported one as a head tie but they were also widely used for celeb face covering by the likes of The Weeknd.
