OUTSIDE NZFW: Amber Peebles Fashion Week Street Style Diary

Remix Fashion Editor Amber Peebles talks us through the best street style from this year's New Zealand Fashion Week...

New Zealand Fashion Week isn’t all about the runway, you know. Although I’m delighted each year to see the incredible creations our Kiwi designers send down the catwalk, I find myself equally excited by the street style fashion of people attending the event.

Here’s my summary of the best street style over the course of New Zealand Fashion Week, as captured on my new Samsung Galaxy Note7. The new Note7 dropped only days before the event started, which was perfect timing, because it didn’t leave my side all week long! Firstly, the camera is killer, capturing crystal clear images every time. Secondly, the Note7 is water resistant, so I was able to brave the weather and meet stylist peeps on the street without worrying about my phone getting wet. Lastly, taking notes was super easy, because I could just pull out the S Pen and scribble notes down on the screen!

New Zealand Fashion Week pulled out all the stops (and just about every weather condition) over the course of the week. If you have ever been the proud owner of a fringe you will be nodding along with me…

NZFW DAY ONE

When it comes to dressing for Fashion Week it’s all about the details; you can get dressed knowing that even the smallest details won’t be missed in this crowd. On day one I spotted my current style crush Brooke Testoni and the gorgeous Talisa Sutton outside in the sea of Fashion Week comers and goers. They are two cool Aussie fashion bloggers that I’ve Insta stalked for a long time, so I did what any fan girl in my shoes would have done… I photographed them!

NZFW DAY TWO

In typical Fashion Week tradition the weather turned against us. However I wasn’t going to let it dampen my spirit like it did my gold Guccis. It was a roll of the dice every time I stepped outside as to what weather I was going to face! Note to self, Gold Guccis, slippery when wet! For my obligatory outfit change I opted for my oldest ankle boots, which are perfect for puddles. I appreciated seeing some shoulder bearing all in the name of fashion; it’s always nice to see a bit of skin in a sea of coats, coats and more coats.

NZFW DAY THREE

Sunglasses on a day three served me well along with a headband, which with grey skies and endless rain, helped me avoid a bad hair moment. Good thing that despite the weather there.
